Consideraciones históricas: De Sisto (1962) muestra la Arena Muri, en la base del intervalo de las Arenas "L" de la Formación La Pica, en los campos de Muri y Santa Bárbara. El término ha sido usado por la Sinclair Oil and Refining Co. (una de las antecesoras de CORPOVEN, S.A.)
