Este nombre se ha aceptado como válido en Trinidad para designar calizas con moluscos del Paleoceno, pese a que su categoría de unidad cartografiable es dudosa (Kugler, 1956-a). El nombre ha sido utilizado ocasionalmente en la estratigrafía venezolana (Liddle, 1928, 1946; Mackenzie, 1937-a, b; Illing y Kugler, 1938) sin justificación adecuada (F. de Rivero, 1956, Léxico Estratigráfico de Venezuela; Salvador, 1964-b).
