In the Correlation Table by A. Senn (1940, p. 1589), in the column headed "Zulia-Falcón basin, Maracaibo East", there appears in a division corresponding to the basal Oligocene and uppermost Eocene, the name "Paloma Alta shales and Cerro Venado conglomerate". These formations were not described. A description of the Paloma Alta formation has since been published but, as far as we know, no other author has used the name Cerro Venado conglomerate, nor given the geographic location.
