Original reference: A. H. Garner, 1926, p. 680.

Original description: ibid.

Garner (1926, p. 680) used the name Boquerón sandstone (misspelled by him as Bocorron) for a massive, coarse, conglomeratic, hard, white to reddish brown sandstone forming hills just west of the town of Boquerón in the state of Trujillo. Thickness, stratigraphic relations, etc., not mentioned by Garner. Garner's Boqueron sandstone, obsolete name, is probably what is now called the Misoa formation.
