Author of name: A. Senn, 1932 (private report)
Original reference: R. A. Liddle, 1946, correlation table.
Original description: none.
The name "Boconó" (without any lithologic term) appers in the correlation table of Liddle, 1946, in the colum headed "Escuque and Monte Carmelo". That is merely a synonym for the Guasare, appers from listing in the index of the book ("Boconó, Río Guasare formation near"), and the references in the text:
"...In a few isolated localites of small extent, as Inciarte, Boconó, Los Morros de San Juan and Isla Soldado, conditions were favorable for deposition of 300-400 feet of marly limestone, Río Guasare and Soldado formation, which appear to have been a reef". (p. 298)
"...On the trail south from Boconó, also in the state of Trujillo, which follows above the valley of Río Boconó"
